Buccaneers: Shipshape is a full remake of the 1989 Buccaneers arcade game, featuring a plethora of new additions. With the full support from the developer of the original game, Duintronic S.A., this new remake introduces:
• Ability to control movement in the Z axis (depth), offering a gameplay reminiscent of classic beat ‘em ups like Renegade and Final Fight
• Additional moves including dash, grabs, and special attacks
• 3 new selectable heroes including two female pirates
• 4-player local co-op
• New enemies and hazards
• Treasure chests with power-ups
• Pickup weapons, including pistols and whips
• Additional stages
• Enhanced graphics (updated color palette, new shading, additional animation frames)
• All-new soundtrack
• Widescreen support

The game also includes an unlockable Classic Game mode. This campaign recreates the original arcade game and retains its single-player, single-plane gameplay, as well as its graphics and music!

I always wish to have a mix between Bucaneers and Cutthroat Island and you realize it 🏝️. This is always cool to have a pirate themed beat em up on Openbor. I will follow closely your project, thanks for developing it 😉

Wow! Interesting. I'm not so much into the pirate theme, but it looks gorgeout.
I remember testing the acade version on Mame.
This new version looks more advanced. I'm curious to see more about the actual gameplay upgrades, differences bettween characters etc.
So, you had the official licence / copyright stuff ? (I'm pretty noobish with these concepts) Just like my compatriots did with SOR4

Thank you @NED . Yes, this game has been authorized by Duintronic, developer of the original game :)

I really don't know much about Buccaneers, but it is so intriguing to see an amazing gameplay of it. Looking forward to your project.

Waitaminute, you know the guys who did SOR4?

Not personnally, But I had the chance to exchange with them in some exclusive french live + chat etc. (before the game is completed/released)
The exchange was interesting, beside of them being a bit "stubborn"/decided about the fact their game don't need a running action, roll or other extra animations. ^^;
But again... Time, Money, Artists... 2015+ is a hard time for expressing your art freely in a game without financial problems.
(sorry for my brocken english, the message can sound harsh to them or something)

Excellent. This game it's an mix with triology ''Golden Axe'', ''Pirates Of Dark Water'' and ''Cutthroat Island''
It's so rare Beat Em Up with Pirates Theme. Nice that there two female characters and interesting when press up button, and seeing the characters' backs (like SEGA games like Golden Axe and Alien Storm). Congratulations!

Of course it looks good.
My wish is every charactrer to have some more advanced mechanics.
Classic visual style , but advanced gameplay.

Thanks guys for your kind comments.

Savio form the Youtube channel The Flying Kick just shared his impressions on the Buccaneers demo. This very demo will be available on Steam from June 13 to June 20 this year.

This marks the first review so far, and I couldn't be more pleased!

So are you finished with that wolf game.
No, I expect to finish Bloody Paws and release it in Q3 2022. It's still in development and I already have a much advanced version with more stages and enemies, that I haven't shared yet. But I wanted to have my next game already announced before releasing it :)
