Canceled Dungeons & Dragons UPDATE

Project is halted prior to completion and will not receive further updates.
Yes, really so excellent.
I like all the spells you make :D

The only thing is that if you spend too much time in cities and stores, it'll break up the pace of the game...

very cool
i really liked the throwable weapon switch. it was hard to make?

It is actually item use system and since it is item use, character can do anything based on currently held item. Jarred only shows how to toss items but if you pay attention in 2nd video, Tel'Erond drinks mana potion which is also item use animation. Tel'Erond drinks it very quick though.

Item use system is simple BUT it is linked with inventory system which is the toughest part to make. So the answer is yes, it was hard :)

i want to create one gem system for marvel wargems each gem giving my players one ability and they must be able to switch to each one they want to use like in your game
do you think it could be done using your system? can you share?

That sounds more like Megaman weapons system in which he can choose between 8 weapons he has acquired. Am I right?
Hmm... if that's the case, maybe what you need is actually spell and skill system. If you pay attention to 1st video, Jarred's skill icon is empty at 1st, however after buying crossbow, his icon is immediately changed to crossbow icon.
This system is simpler contrast to inventory system which is limited to 6 slots and 9 units each.

I could share this but before that do you want display system as well? it's system to display currently chosen gem

and for this:

Hey, if you have played RPG games, walking in cities and towns, talking to NPCs is very common and it is indeed part of the game :)

For sure, you are real ;)
But like you write, now the game is a RPG and not a beat'em up :p
So it is why capcom made these scenes very short ... to make an action game with some RPG feature ...
But i like RPG games too ... it's just that I do not expect this ;)

this mod is going to be epic I cant wait I know blood bane will set a new standard with this one

wow that was amazing. You guys are setting the bar very high on that.

The Megaman weapon system code would be nice to have, since I plan to make something with it a possible future.

As a fan of Action rpgs I can't ignore this project.I always dreamed to play (or in the worst case develop) a game like this and with this graphic, with towns and npcs to interact with and at least 20 hours long, it won't be exactly like this (it's a beat-'em-up after all) but quite close.Good luck.

Don't worry guys, this is a really long game (maybe as big as both Capcom D&D games plus Knights of Valour combined or close to it).  Some quests are single levels, other quests are the length of average size OpenBOR mods.  There's PLENTY of action.  The cities are places you go between quests to buy items to take on your new quests, buy spells and weapons that were too expensive to afford before, and also to talk to NPC's to unlock new quests and subquests.

Here's another video showing some of the other features of the game - such as pressure plates that open gates, switches that open doors, small catapult and also some of the kind of action you can't get in a pure RPG.

great work here guys! i'm happy that my D&D characters will be good used in this wonderful game!

i like the videos, the shop system, and everything!  just one quick question; there will be a level up system in the final release?

No :)
However there are vitality potions which can increase maximum HP. There are also some quests which will reward players with maximum HP or MP :)
Oops, that was some spoiler ;D

Anyways, there are also blacksmiths which can fortify your weapon and armor.

This looks amazing.  I didn't know openbor was capable of making it play like an rpg.

Just curious if the Troglodyte and slime were from spriters-resource cause I ripped those?

Slime was from other mod so I don't know who ripped the sprites. Maybe Pierwolf did those.

As for Troglodyte, me and Count Monte ripped the sprites ourselves. After done coding them, Count Monte showed me that their spritesheet is available in spriters-resource.

Here's the new title screen:

Has Dungeon Magic/Lightbringer, Blade Master and Arabian Magic been ripped?

A lot of the sprites in Dungeon Magic would be excellent for this game.  The gorgons in both Blade Master and Arabian Magic are good also.
