Project is completed.
Sorry I forgot to ask what was the original openbor release on the first mod of this GIJOE by Count Monte. My wii only worked with that very specific version.

I guess I may sound dumb here... but there are only the files and a exe file.
What is the command to turn all of those into a .PAK file? And before doing so, what files shall be removed? In what folder should I run the "make pak" sintax (and what it is of course) thanks :

Well, both are long range shooter so once they found a target, they prefer to 'stay still' and shoot
You need packer.exe to pack a mod into a pak file. Though borpak does it better
AFAIK packer and borpak don't care about files which are going to be packed. That's why modders must do the cleaning themselves to control pak size

sorry for bumping this thread I have tried everything that I know but cant get my gamepad to work with this game. even went out and bought a new one. Doing this for my boy and hes real dissapointed right now.
PLEASE HELP ?

well, is rare. do you tried to configure the game before?

usually windows already get the controller by himselft directly on the instalation (after plug in the usb gamepad).
but if not, you should go to the windows "control panel" (i saying this cause i only know windows by the way
).
there are options for everything. including addons conected with the computer.
usually, if the pc usb gamepad dont are already set. you only need to select wich joystick-gamepad you desire to be the "gamepad 1". if the gamepad is already conected, then you can select it on the tab easily. and just enable the joystick.
but is rare, cause usually windows already enable the gamepad without do nothing. more if it is one modern usb gamepad.
after the windows will recognise the gamepad as the prefered "first gamepad-joystick" for use, is very easy.
you only will need to go to the openbor game controls configuration. and there, insert every of the moves.
i means, on "up" press ENTER, and then press the "w" key for play with keys. or on this case, press "up" WITH the joystick.
repeat the progress with all the buttons needed.
a suggestion for the buttons order...

the best order for all this games is always the same...
1st button for the magic/special attack, 2nd button for the normal attack, 3rd button for the jump.
the rest of specials buttons (block, etc) can be used on any other buttons as you prefered.
basically, is just press "enter" key, and then introduce your imput. (keys of gamepad). in this case just press the gamepad direction or button for that move or button.
a little bug on older versions:

on the openbor gamepads works perfectly.
however... on previous bors versions there was a nasty bug if you change the enter button (for decide an option) to a gamepad button. because this will make was SO HARDER can introduce new buttons on the configuration.
this game is a little old openbor mod, before this bug was fixed i think. so maybe that can be your problem...
on this case... dont worry!. just erase the little configuration file, and start again with the game from zero.
then now, just leave the start button on the "enter" key, and do the rest of imputs for all the moves/controls.
hope you can do it perfectly now.

you also should play things as streets of rage remake free fangame, the genesis emulator with streets of rage or sonics games, and over all, play with the M.A.M.E.
"mame" is one awesome arcade machine emulator. wich emulates the GLORY of the past arcades. it contains many of the games that has been remaked here.
create you own mame games compilation (mameui32 emulator plus the roms (roms=games) are a bit hard for a begginner. however... there exist tutorials on youtube. apart, a very good site for start is planetemu.
i will strongly recomend you to visit my youtube channel and my 2nd blog...

note: on mega you will need to install a little firefox/google chrome navegator addon, for can download big files on mega.
is easy to find, on the up/right corner. on the "menu" tab. then go to app/app for firefox or app for google chrome, depending of wich you have. there are 2 apps for the 2 versions of mega. install the both. and you will be abble to download without any fail.

sometimes, the games doents allow you to use a gamepad. forcing you to play with keys. NEVER MORE. theres an easy trick or way to play those games with a gamepad too.
sometimes, certains games as flashgames, or castle crashers (wich was maked for only work with a xbox gamepad) doents allow you to play with a normal pc usb gamepad.
for those cases, just donwload "joytokey". as their name already said, this little free tool will allow you to enter certains keys (used by the game), to be used on a gamepad. making that you can play, for example, the awesome "castle crashers" with a gamepad without any problem.
first, enter the keys you prefered. usually these will be "w,s,a,d" (for the move) and "J,K,L,U,I,O" for the 6 action buttons.
then, go to joytokey, create a new game sheet entering the games name, and enter those keys that the game uses on the right place, for the gamepad will have they.
that way, when you push "UP" on your gamepad, will be like if you pressed the "W" key.

a modern openbor engine, could work fine with this old mod.
only the very older mods doents work with a modern openbor engine release.
but i dont remenber where exactly on the forum was the engines download right now.

however, is a pity that the "cobra commander scape mode" was SO HARDER!.
i dont wanted to do it... but finally i was sick of die always. so i finished that mode using the infinite credits cheat.

however I cant get multiple players going simultaneously
is that possible ? Id like to play it together with my boy

If you're on PC using a keyboard I know its definitely possible to do 2 players simultaneously, so in theory it should also work with the xpadder. Hopefully someone on this forum can help you figure out how to configure it to do so.

well, can be interesting see more openbor shoot em ups someday.
on the way they can be fully implemented. as shock troopers or metal slug, or prehistoric isle in 1930, for say some examples. those things can be done easily with gamemaker. but that openbor can also create different games than beat em ups, would make it much more better even.
wait a moment.. you not was abble to imput the joystick on that bor engine of the gijoe...? damn... how could this be?
did you already entered on the control pannel for see if the connnected joystick is detected?
if not, well xpadder is one program. the other is "joytokey". using the 2, you must be abble to play 2 players meanwhile both players will have different keys asigned.
this is the big problem that have castle crashers. that needed a joytokey program for can play it. i think they already fixed that glitch on newer versions. but im not sure now.
on previous versions, they force you to use an xbox controlpad on your pc for can play it.
anyway, good luck.

and about the bor. i liked a lot all the different stages that the game have. and the fact of the chars and everything was do starting from zero.
i really will love if someone could do a similar thing with knight rider or team a. 2 tv series i loved from my childhood that never was so many decent games.
(unless that awesome and modern "knight rider the fangame" on progress that you can see on the net ).

thats a true pain in the ass...
and dont let you play as they deserved. on that case... is just resignation. or try to change that on the controller. if is possible changing it with a mode button maybe.
if not... is just use joytokey. and use xpadder for some keys and 1 player, and joytokey for others keys and the 2nd player.
i hope this could work fine.
