Y’all See Sega Announce They’re Remaking Streets Of Rage?!

Looks Like Its Going To Be In 3rd Person View.

I can bet that was the reason Sega filled a complaint against Zvitor's Golden Axe game - they were working on a new game and I can be sure it would be called "Golden Axe Returns" lol.

There is the video in slow motion:

I dunno what to expect from both. Golden Axe doesn't looks to be a beat em up. I liked shinobi, but not that tiny sprite on the screen
And I agree with this guy:

I am cautiously optimistic... VERY cautiously. Sega tried this back in the early 2000's and it fell flat HARD. Shinobi was a decent (not good, but decent) game on its own, but had pretty much nothing at all to do with the original series, and it didn't help that Ninja Gaiden came along and schooled it in every aspect.

SOR never happened at all, and that's how we as a community got started. Golden Axe had that atrocious mess of a remake, and Beast Rider got farmed out to some discount studio that (in fairness to them) had an impossible set of circumstances to fight through. Phantasy Star 1 and 2 updates actually looked good, and I was anxious to try them. Bit disappointing in scope, but still nice, and as I understand they sold fairly well. So.... Sega canceled the English versions and scrapped plans to update 3 and 4. Because of course.

If Sega actually makes these in house and follows through, they might not be bad. If they don't... well, less competition for us.

Honestly my last flame of hope was that at least for a last time Sega would make a SoR sequel (or reboot/remake) in pixel art before diving onto the 3D world in memory of the classic trilogy. Considering the failed 3D attempts and the amount of time Sega stayed away from the SoR world, I'm not too optimistc. Hope I'm very wrong and the new attempt could be a great game.

I agree with this buddy. Tho im super glad there is a new SoR game coming i honestly do not like the look of this 3D version. But then again at first i didn't like the look of SoR4 when i first seen it. But then ended up loving it hahaha. So hopefully this 3D one is decent.

I am pesimistic about 3D SOR, after what I have seen and think it's the best beat'em up of all time so far, SOR4.

I've played 3 3D beatmups (one of them was even inspired by Streets of Rage 2) and they played very different than regular 2.5D beatmups. So SEGA is taking very high risk is SoR 5 is going 3D. Especially with SoR4 who has been released before, players would compare these two together.
The trailer above only shows Axel in some kind of test room so I couldn't predict its gameplay or even whether it is going to be 3D or 2.5D. SoR5 is still in development so we can only wait.

Golden Axe in the trailer looks like it's going to be in 3D, both model and gameplay. I am not sure if they were going to make it into 3D beatmup or 3D hack n slash.

Indeed It looks like it's just a small testing demo so there is still a possibility that this title could be cancelled.
I can't imagine what their idea for beat em up 3d is since i never liked sonic 3d, ever. Even after Sonic 3 I could never enjoy it anymore.
90s Sega's development team are still the best, so which team is working on it this time?

My thought about new Golden Axe was correct, it is in 3D and looks like hack and slash.
Streets of Rage Revolution looks like will be in 3D judging from name and screenshot.

About Golden Axe

As much as i enjoyed Castlevania Lords of shadow,
i don't want Golden Axe to turn into another God of war clone,
if they could improve on the gameplay that Lord of the rings the 2 towers had,

and if they feature a 3 or 4 player mode, it will be fantastic.

Streets of rage is more likely to borrow a similar mechanic as LOTR, unless the characters magicallly have moves that resemble the circular motions of a whip..

i would rather have only 8 direction movement, on 3d enviroment like on the thq wrestling games or at least give SOR a more wrestling game like feel, a lot of the attempts at making 3D close range hack and slash or beathem-up without the big 360 degree circular attacks (god of war / Lords of shadow) always end up with weird animations and feel
