Streets of Kamurocho - Free Official Yakuza X Streets of Rage Mashup Game

I just played it, and as mentioned before, it's just one level looped that gets harder and harder. All three characters play the same since they share SoR2 Axel's moveset and voice clips. The music changes depending on who you're playing as. I wasn't expecting much since it's a free minigame, but hopefully the OpenBOR community can put these resources to better use.
 
That's too bad the 3 characters are based on Axel SOR2 only (and SOR2 stage 1). They've made good job with the sprite swap.
I think that adding some running animations and some new special attacks are possible for me, with the original Yakusa voices too.

Are you gonna compress the voices so they have that classic sound quality?

I did all 8 rounds until I gave up lol!!  Wished they made more levels for this but then again it's a free game so what do you expect, also I heard the same for Golden Axed prototype as well, that it's only 1 level!!

Well, pretty much everything everybody already said, wish the used different sounds, etc!!  They just gave SOR2 it's first level a different coat of paint, that's pretty much it and just have Axel the only playable character ROFL!! ::)

Good thing we have Openbor because I'm sure someone here can doing something with the sprites lol!!  And you can bet I'm looking forward to that lol!!!
 
In this case, why not contacting the Empty Clip team? Maybye, they will be OK to integer Streets of Kamurocho content to Sor2x. I think that it's better than ripping their work and this approach may lead to a partnership, who knows

Yeah, I totally agree with you buddy. I will try to contact them before using any content.

straight trash, lets hope Kratus can clean it up, everytime I see this type of stuff I hope kratus uses the assets and makes a better version.

Thanks man! I will try to contact the authors first, but certainly it is possible to improve a lot of things in this game.
If the authors are ok with it, I can add it as an alternative route in SOR2 stage 1, and the heroes/enemies can be added to the Rebellion mode.

So this is super cool! To celebrate SEGA's 60th Anniversary, they're releasing a Yakuza/Streets of Rage mashup game, and the best part? It's FREE! It'll be available this October on the 17th for Steam and only for a limited time until the 19th. Get it before it disappears. I've been saying for years that Yakuza and Streets of Rage needed a crossover, and I'm really happy this exists, even if it's just a free short game. You can play as both Kiryu and Majima in this. The best part about this news is that it's gonna give the BOR community a bunch of new sprite resources to work with. I'm looking forward to seeing all the potential mods that are gonna come from this! TBH, this is more exciting to me than seeing Kiryu in Tekken. I can't wait!
