Streets of Rage 4

Man....this game gets worse every time a new character is revealed, can honestly say it's just crap now, shame really, don't mean to be a negative Nancy but I'm just disappointed how streets of rage 4 has turned out.

I'm agree with you Danno. One New character would be enough and they'd rather bringing back Max or Zan. No one cares about Floyd...
That's why Sor2x is my dope ;)

The trailer also had a bunch of new enemies. Floyd’s most interesting aspect is his beam attacks.

I was kinda expecting the big guy to be Max. I'm actually kinda surprised that Skate isn't playable. He was in 2 and 3. Well, I'm just glad that Axel and Blaze are in it. They are the only two characters that are playable in every game. Blaze is my favorite in all three games. My brother's favorite is Axel, so we're good to go.

I was hoping for a release date at the end of that trailer as this is my most anticipated game, right now. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Absolutely a day one buy for me :D

I have been playing the whole trilogy, recently. Such fun games. I'm actually having a hard time figuring out which one of the trilogy I like the most. I think they're all great. Unpopular opinion: I actually like the US/PAL version of SOR3 better than the Japanese version. I like the story better in the US/PAL version. I don't mind the difficulty of the game as I can handle it just fine. The only thing I don't really like are the colors that the characters got instead of their normal colors, but I've grown to accept them. I don't hate them. I just think the new colors were unnecessary.

Floyd is the typical powerhouse from the video. Too bad the video doesn't show his slams aside of double grab and throws
Instead, the video shows something like double jump, which either not executed properly or not impressive since the second jump is performed just above the ground. Contrast to regular double jumps which brings player higher
I hope he has more slams than shown in video cause with his long grab, he could perform many slams easier
He also has giga volt grab similar to Belva's (Denjin Makai) giga volt which is great to hit other enemies while grabbing

Floyd's hyper beam looks strong, I wonder how bosses could handle that ;)

Floyd aside, I noticed these:
1. Blue bottle tosser chicks. I believe that's the 4th tossers shown so far after Elizabeth, Victoria and grenade tosser chick
2. An anti-riot fights against white haired Soozie  ??? . That makes me think that players might get aid from the former somehow. Or maybe it's part of 3 way battle i.e Heroes vs punks vs police ?

Got my hopes back up for a while, but after seeing this? I'm kind of grouping up with the other haters. Floyd? Really? So he's as slow as Max and uninteresting as Zan.. we'd want to play him why? Maybe they gave him some cool wrestling moves and the preview just didn't show them.

Also is it just me, or are those particle effects really garish... So Adam is Terry Bogard now, but why do half his moves spout up puke yellow dragons?  :o

I feel like I'm one of the few who's actually really looking forward to this game. I see lots of people hating on the game. Floyd doesn't interest me at all, but I don't have to play as him, so he doesn't bother me. Why are people hating on this game? I don't see anything wrong with it.

Well, I guess I can understand that you're disappointed in the game if your favorite character isn't playable (Max, Skate and Zan). I would be too if Blaze wasn't playable.

In my case, I don't think it's going to be a terrible game or anything - just very mediocre and unworthy of the SOR legacy. It just shows all the signs of being yet another download title that will be forgotten in a few months. I'll give it a chance and hope that I'm wrong...

I remember being very disappointed in SOR3 when I played it for the first time and thought it was a weak sequel compared to SOR2. I don't enjoy the soundtrack as much and overall, it doesn't really do anything much to improve itself from SOR2. And yet, even though I think SOR3 is below the quality of SOR2, I still highly enjoy the game.

So, in other words, I don't really mind if the game is gonna be decent or average. As long as it's fun to play and replay, then I'm happy.

Does anyone even remember River City Ransom Underground and River City Girls? Shinobi 3D? Heck, all DD games after Neon are pretty bad, too.

For me it seems like the guys who made this haven't played the previous 3 games, the art style looks like a Saturday morning cartoon from early 2000's made in flash animator, the animation feels weak, attacks look feeble, not stiff and violent, sound effects are crap music is worse, character design looks like it's been done by art students in high school, backgrounds don't match the characters, the special moves are WACK, new characters are rubbish, could of put in a ninja or a robot but they choose a girl with a guitar and Floyd... Adam looks pants and I can tell he upgrades his iPhone every year when the new model comes out, most of all it doesn't look fun to play, like Damon said it's just not worthy of the legacy, Maybe when it comes out and I play it I'll actually change my mind but the look and sound of it so far doesn't inspire my wallet, they should of named it Double Dragon neon 2

I love River City Girls! I've never played a River City game before that one so I couldn't compare it with the older games.

The one game that I was actually disappointed with, is Double Dragon IV. I just didn't like it. And I also thought the title of the game was weird. Did Arc System Works forgot about Super Double Dragon? Even though it's not named as such, Super Double Dragon is actually Double Dragon IV. We actually got a Double Dragon V after Super Double Dragon.

A couple of NES games got a fourth game on the SNES.

Mario: 1-3 on NES. Super Mario World on SNES (World is known as Super Mario Bros. 4 in Japan)
Castlevania: 1-3 on NES. Super Castlevania IV on SNES
Turtles: 1-3 on NES. TMNT IV: Turtles in Time on SNES
Double Dragon: 1-3 on NES. Super Double Dragon on SNES (It's just missing the Roman numeral in the title but it matches with the other games I mentioned)

I guess you have many points. Perhaps the reason I'm okay with the game is because I don't pay any attention to the things you just mentioned. The graphics, animation, sound effects and if the background matches with the characters. It doesn't even cross my mind to look for those details.

If I am going to give my two cents on the matter...

I am honestly glad that the game isn't recycling Max or Skate. I don't mind if they can be unlockables or whatever method they use for us to obtain them. But for part of the main cast? It's a new game, and I'd honestly rather have new characters. Making a new game and totally recycling old characters, and leaving little to no space for a new one is silly in my opinion, and, if it were to do that, it might as well just be a remake/reboot. It's a thing that happens far too much these days (SFIV, I'm looking at you), and I am glad they are treating this like an actual sequel.

I pretty much knew this guy wasn't going to be Max before he ever got revealed. I had no idea who he'd be, but it was obviously not Max. Am I a fan of his design? Personally, I am indifferent. He looks feasible. He's inoffensive to me personally. If I were to design the game, I'd not design him like that, but I can deal with it. I was honestly expecting a much worse design than what we got. If it had been Max, I'd have shook my head and figured it was just more nostalgia pandering. Axel and Blaze returning is fine, always good to leave some old faces, or else you make the SF3 mistake. Even the old sequels did that, but they still left room for new faces. And Adam returning is also fine in my book, because he hasn't had an official "SoR2" update, while Skate, Max, and Zan were introduced in that "SoR2" style, as opposed to SoR1's more rudimentary manner of play.

SoR3 reused Skate, and I am realizing more and more how lazy that decision is, and probably how much that had to do with how little time they had to develop. Not to mention Skate, to me, feels forced into the game, like he wasn't made for it. And I am honestly glad they are not making that mistake again. I am also glad they are not trying too hard to make it upgraded SoR2 with Adam.

A four players online gameplay:
Maybye we can also develop in this forum, a list of 2 to 4 players Openbor games online access with Parsec :).

All characters share 1 combo metre? Tell you what I am looking forward to and that's modding this, all the changes I'd make will probably be paid dlc anyways.
