We already  had all the text translations and fixes covered.

I've very busy, but here are some news:

- Now the players has (and maybe bosses) ground attacks, to punish fallen foes. Not all players will have it, because I don't see Captain America beating someone on the ground, for example. He is too..."straight-arrow" for that. But hey, Wolverine doesn't give a damn about it, lol

- Greece (Olympus) stage on the works. You can expect some magical creatures here.

Boss: Encantress. She decided to attack the Olympus to force Hercules to appear. And she will find what she is looking for :)

Some more progress:

Tigra is almost done. She just lack her Avenger Power and new voices (I am waiting for the voice actor to send me), no more Rila voices :)
As stated before, Tigra has two modes: Tigra mode and Hellcat mode, triggered by which palette she was selected with.
For now, each mode has one different move. Maybe I will expand this later, its kinda hard to edit new moves for her.

Nice to see that Tigra has her own voices now. And a pallete-swap mode!

Also, will some characters who are not playable, assists, or bosses have plot roles or make cameos?

I worked on Red Hulk a bit, to make it sound less Hulk. He has new stand, new basic attacks and a friend of mine is editing some new moves for him.

That kick was going to be an normal attack, until I got the idea to make it a chain-move kick: once the kick connects, Red Hulk grabs the enemy and executes randomly either a Spike Piledriver or a Back Breaker (from a Torture Rack position).

I imagine player would see in certain level : a super villain flees from a bank after robbing it OR a super hero chases a super villain while knocking anything in their path  ;D  ;D

I have this really weird suggestion for a character in the game: Kaspar the Dead Baby. An obvious parody of Casper the Friendly Ghost, Kaspar traveled with his friend Windy to wreak vengeance on those who led to his death. Kaspar battled and slew his own abusive father, who had murdered him in the first place. For a parody, Kaspar was really cool.

That could be the base for Kaspar. I'd be pleased if he simply made a cameo.
 
miru please tell me your joking man don't get me wrong those are awesome sprites but the demo feels like the classic arcade game but plays a lot better. For me at least I think including a character like this would ruin the feel of the game like this. I would say if I was playing the Simpson or the ed edd and Eddie game Casper would fit in perfectly. Again awesome sprites though

More news:

The project progress is slow but steady. Currently, only me (programming, editing and all) and Jhfer (editing, palettes and ideas) are working on this project, with occasional assistance from friends in different areas. I would love to be able to launch the new demo in December this year and will do everything possible to make this feasible. However, I have a number of commitments that may not allow this to happen, but I will strive to get me to do that. I've played quite this game on mobile and noted (I walk with a book on the bus as I come and go to work) every bug or improvement that can be done and when spare time, I have worked to repair and improve the game.

This will be the team of playable characters in the next release. Unless someone to join us in the development, I do not intend to work on new playable characters to the next release, because I think we already have a number of options to choose from.

Hey :) I just found out about this game and I wanted to say how excited I am for it! A huge congratulations are in order for this project. I downloaded the demo and thought it was incredible. I am a huge fan of Marvel First Alliance 2 and this game has a similar feel to it but also has it's own charm which is great.

I have only played the first stage or so and I don't know how long the demo is yet but I'm looking forward to sitting down and playing through it all and trying all of the available characters :) Seriously I don't have a single complaint, and I'm a harsh critic when it comes to OpenBOR games, lol

I love that there's going to be a huge cast of characters. For me that's one of the most important things for an OpenBOR game, especially one set in a universe as big as Marvel. I know that it must be a heck of a lot of work creating and implementing characters so thank you very much for going to so much effort :) It will absolutely add infinite replay value to the game and allow fans to play as their favourite characters and make their 'dream teams' co-opping with friends.

With that said, I wanted to make some suggestions/requests with regards to characters I'd love to see make it into the game in the future, but of course I don't expect them to be accepted, lol. I appreciate you have enough planned and I hope you won't think me rude for asking for more! I have my own 'dream teams' of sorts so I'm always in hope of these characters appearing in a superhero OpenBOR game.

I'd love to see Molly Hayes from The Runaways comics. The idea of a little girl taking to the street and super punching the bad guys is pretty funny. She's one of my favourite underrated characters and she's only ever appeared in the Avengers Alliance Facebook game so I'd love for her to get a spot in another game. The other Runaways could be cool too. Karolina Dean would be pretty sweet 'cause her rainbow beams would look awesome and she would make a good 2 Player ally to Molly. Nico could be interesting although I'm not sure how the Staff of One would work so she'd probably not be suited for a game like this, lol.

My other requests are DC characters so probably not an option. The Teen Titans, plus Terra. I've longed for those characters to be in a beat'em up for a long time but all we got were two lousy GBA games and a pretty awesome PS2 game in which you could even unlock Terra, but she wasn't playable in the main game, just a Versus mode :( Terra is probably one of my favourite characters across the entire superverse but she's never been playable in any decent margin. I understand this IS a Marvel based game though so the Teen Titans and Terra don't really belong, but I figured I'd just put it out there, lol. They're still superheroes so they're not entirely a bad match. Me and my best friend love the Teen Titans and love OpenBOR beat'em ups so that's kinda why I want to see them in this game, along with Terra 'cause she's my bae (I can't believe I just used that word...) I wouldn't say no to Batman and Superman either since they're superhero staples.

Oh yeah, I had a question about Tigra. Her other mode is called 'Hellcat' and seems to adopt a similar color scheme to the actual superhero Hellcat. Is it like having two characters in one slot or something? Will the name change depending on the form you choose? Or is Hellcat going to be a separate hero in the future? I was just a little confused on that :) It's nice to see them in the game though because I don't think they've been playable in anything else.

Haha, talking about this game has made me want to play it. I think I'll go see if I can finish the demo!

Thanks for your feedback. The most recent version is far better than the old demo, and I struggling to release it this year yet (my goal is December).
About the Runaways, maybe they can appear as NPC or Helpers. But not Molly, since I hate her, sorry. In general, I don't like powerful characters without enough muscular mass to explain it - this is why I haven't added She-Hulk on this game. In She-Hulk case, its even worse because I don't like gender bender characters.

About DC suggestions, thanks but I can't add it. I had plans to make a DC game on the past, but I don't know if I will ever do it.

This is because Zvitor is my friend and we share works between us. AUBF was made exploring MFA1 codes, I've made some codes to MFA1, both uses material from an unrelased StarWars mod we were working togheter (this is why the shoot sound its the same on both games, for example). Yes, its like to have two characters in one slot in a cheap way, lol. The name will change based on the form you choose.
I had the idea to separate the both characters, but the amount of work to make they different would be too high and since she has a complex smart pallet, its not an easy task.

I like to make alternate characters as different as I can. For example, I keep changing Red Hulk/Hulk and Iron Man/War Machine to make they feel as very different characters, not just an alternate pallet.

- Emma Frost, while in Diamond Form, can now grab (and attack/throw) enemies

- Tigra and Black Cat (Quicksilver will be able to do this too, maybe Wolverine also) can recovery from fall and land on their feet.

- War Machine can now grab (and attack/throws) enemies, but Iron Man can't. It makes sense since Rhodes had military training. Also his Special 2, Seek and Destroy, now depends on hit to make him go to the uppercut.

- Red Hulk has a new jumpattack animation

- Gunners now can't shoot while they are outside the screen, upon request.

- Some enemies can take the recovery itens from the floor

- Brand now can enter in Gun mode as a extra move (cost mp) and not as he Avenger Power. I need to code her Avenger move yet.

- Started to code the aerial stage. Its the transition between the first stage (after the battle with Tiger Shark) and the Maggia ship.

The only bad news is that Brand's Gun mode is given me a bug vith a global variable and I am having no luck fixing it. Maybe I will request help from a more experienced coder.

I would like to post more stuff but I am still deadly busy at RL. But I hope to post more stuff soon.

I can see your logic with the 'strength without muscle' thing, lol.

I'm so pleased to hear that Gunners can't shoot off-screen anymore. I finally finished the demo and that was my biggest complaint. It also sometimes feels like there's too many Gunners at once. It can be difficult to dodge them all and I can't quite master the blocking controls yet and of course I can only block bullets coming at me from the front so I usually get shot in the back whilst I'm doing that, lol. I'll keep at it though. :)

I was wondering about the second attack button too? In the control config there's Attack 1, Attack 2, Jump and Special but it seems Attack 2 isn't used? Is it something that will be used in the future or have I just not figured out what it does yet? lol

I tried downloading Battle Stormer Classics but I got an error when opening it "failed to load module libresample.dll"
 
Yeah, some people complained about the shooters (gunners) so I changed they a bit, and now there is a small delay to gunners arrive. There is so much gunners because its the only way to someone could hurt a superheroe, lol. As a friend of mine said, its hard to balance something unbalanced by default :)
And you can't only block bullets, you can dodge (down down or up up) with some characters also.

The second attack (A2) does nothing on that demo, I just forgot to remove it. Now its used to block attack (its better than down+special button combination).
I am working to make some characters, like Captain, to stay in block animation

About Battle Stormer Classics, it won't work in Win 8 and beyond, thanks to the way I compiled it. I will send you a working version by PM.

Another solution could be giving gunners more realistic shooting with fast projectiles, instead of the old slow moving pellets.  This way the bullets spend less time on screen and it's less annoying to the player. 

In general I wanna play a beat em up not dodge bullets all day, they make shmups for that :P
