This is my new project, a 2D Beat Em Up. It's a work in progress but it already has a page on Steam: Bloody Paws Unleashed on Steam
And also Gamejolt: Game Jolt - Games for the love of it

Bloody Paws Unleashed is a remake and expansion of the 1990 game Bloody Paws, which was developed in Spain by Mar Entertainment and released for the ZX Spectrum and MSX.

"The first rays of the sun came through the window. Half asleep, he reached across the unmade bed, seeking to feel the soft touch of her scented skin under his hand.

But she was not there.

The front door was open, forced. Someone had come in and taken his beloved Samantha.

A sweet and familiar aroma came to him from the East. Now he could search for her and he will. He will not stop until he finds her and whoever had dared to do this. And when he finds him..."

The original Bloody Paws is a curious item: a side-scrolling beat ‘em up in which players control a melodramatic werewolf on a quest to find his missing wife and fight a horde of eccentric creatures such as invisible men, rope-jumping mummies, off-brand superheroes, and the Frankestein monster. The game also had an unfortunate behind-the-scenes story: the publisher released the game before it was completed, without even informing (or paying!) the developers.

In 2020, a completed version of Bloody Paws was released for the Amstrad CPC.

I got the blessing from the creator of Bloody Paws, Juan Carlos Sanchez, to bring this cool relic of the past to the PC and give it the full Merso X treatment. Free from the limitations of the 8-bit systems of the 80s, Bloody Paws Unleashed will inject the original game with color, gameplay polish, additional animations, extra levels, and more!

Featuring:
• Tongue-in-cheek, soap-opera inspired storyline. Bloody is yearning for his lover, and the wild beast won’t stop at anything until he gets her back!!
• Updated graphics and sound
• Multiple attack types and fast-paced action
• 6 playable stages, revamped and new
• Boss fights
• English and Spanish language modes

This looks pretty cool so far. I never played the original, but I know what game it is. I like that you can do environmental attacks with the lightpoles, and the oblivious drunk guys are hilarious. Once this gets a little more of the 3rd feature you listed, I think this will be a lot of fun.

Ahhh, looks good so far  8).
Destroying lightpoles and other stuffs was surprising, makes me wonder what other stuffs Bloody can destroy next ;)

Glad to hear that :)

Ouch.

That reminds me this cool game Wolfchild (I like Amiga intros so much :) ):

You have here a nice beginning on this Bloody paws mod.
I hope that one day you update your old games like Power Rangers with new enemies and Karate Kid with a Johnny Lawrence route :)

If all goes well, I'll release this game in "Early Access" tomorrow. Crazy how long it has taken to develop. I originally envisioned having the game completed by the end of this month, even factoring in delays. Yeah right! I think  it may take me about 6 more months to truly complete it - we'll see.

At this point, the original 1990 ZX Spectrum /Amstrad CPC game has been remade in its entirety (with extras!). What's left to do is basically polishing the game and adding more content: levels, boss battles, illustrations, translations...

Thank you all for the support!

I'm wondering how you can gain the rights to create a remake of this game and sell it? Do you have an agreement with the publisher?

Annnd it's live! :D

That's right, I have an agreement with the creator and rights owner.
