Dungeons and Dragons: Rise of Warduke

Complete Dungeons & Dragons: NEW RELEASE! 0.1.0

Project is completed.
Bloodbane  I played the game for two days, finally giving up on the princess protect quest against war duke. Tried many times.

This is the glitch I was commenting the other day. Mostly worked against ballista but you can see also working on an orc.

The Game would be great without those ballista and catapults.Game becomes extremely hard in singleplayer with those annoying enemy >:( >:( and not fun.i hope we get a future update were we can play alone without those ballista and catapults. Its just impossible to fight all those enemy alone without dying. :-\

It would be awesome if there were an android version of this game! I did try to make a .Pak out of it, but it bugged out on Fox fingers.

LOL. You guys are still playing this.

As for the Princess protection mission, stay away from the catapult and use the mage's Cloudkill spell to kill all the enemies. I think I cautioned everyone to wreck / stay away from the catapult in that mission (as well as hacking the heck out of the savefile) in the game guide.

I managed to make a Pak of the game to play on my android. It plays perfectly until the "steal dragon egg" quest. After defeating the boss, the mission just doesn't end. Music is playing, the game is on slow motion, I can control my character and pause the game, but the mission does not end. Does anyone know of a solution, maybe a specific openbor build to run the game?

I am using openbor build 6412

Sounds like a bug to me. I think after the boss is killed, you collect the reward and GTFO of Dodge (also known as the dragon's cave).

I'm skimming my old guide, and from the brevity of the mission specs, it looks like I never had a problem with it ending correctly (I am on a Windows 10 desktop though).

I will try to play it on windows this weekend to see if the same thing happens, but I think it is something related to the android openbor build or the pak I generated.

Ah yeah. I'm not playing on a screen that's about the size of an old Gameboy.

My best friend has called this his favorite game. He has said that he loves it even more than Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara, which is high praise coming from him, because he loves those games dearly. I actually think I agree with him. This game is really, really, awesome! Probably my all-time favorite.

I do have a question; upon beating the "good quest", how do you unlock the "endless dungeon" which I've read about? Because I'd love to keep playing into perpetuity, if at all possible. Actually, I've got another question, is there any way to hack the game so that you can use the good-guy characters in the evil quest portion of the game?

Welcome to the forum @AcroyearOfSPartak. I'm tagging @Bloodbane. He'd be the one most able to answer your questions.

Hi there, sorry for late reply 😅 .

I can't remember if we ever mention endless dungeon before . Where did you hear about that?
The closest I could recall is Knights & Dragons - Endless Quest, another module made by Pierwolf.

is there any way to hack the game so that you can use the good-guy characters in the evil quest portion of the game?

Well, you could hack the select files. These files defines which characters are available when they are played. For Sea of Dust (evil quest), there are selectW.txt and selectWI.txt in data/levels folder. You'd need to modify both files by inserting good guys there. If you need their names, you could find them in select.txt in same folder. Copy them and paste them into the former select files.

Actually, Blackmoor Ruins and Hippodrome and some of the other endless dungeons are, I've discovered, all the endless dungeon I need. I still find all of them more than challenging enough and super-fun....really, between the endless dungeons that remain after you beat Warduke, there's more material than most 2D side-scrollers ever offer.

Thanks for the explanation regarding how to play as good characters in the Sea of Dust! And thanks again for this awesome piece of work! It is insanely fun! Also, as a hardcore fan of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 1st and 2nd editions, I love the references and the fact that we actually get to live out the cover the first edition player's handbook! I also fondly remember the Warduke action figure, so that is also really cool.

Oh, one other question--off the top of your head do you recall what spells the elf can learn? I bought some spells with the intention of him using them but found he couldn't use any of the ones I bought.

I know a few, maybe...
  • Conjure Pointy Eared Chump.
  • Globe of Safe Space To Sit and Cry.
  • Power Word: Wuss.
  • Wish - I was cool as a Half-Elf.
😁

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I'm sure @Bloodbane will be along to give you the real list.
