Bloodbane and I have a new release - Martial Masters: New Legend.
It's an homage to Kung Fu movies, hope you enjoy!

This is a much shorter game than our last one, but it has some neat surprises.

Thanks for the rude reply!  And the hostility is much appreciated too!  After all, we spent months and  years working on these mods and give them out for free, so I'm sorry I can't offer you a refund.

I posted yesterday that there was an error with the first upload, and to download it again.  The game won't crash after the opening story scroll now.

Rise of Warduke, GI JOE, and Martial Masters were all made on different versions of OpenBOR for Windows.  So I just include the full folder with that version of OpenBOR to be sure it will play without bugs.  So you just open the folder and double-click the OpenBOR icon and play.

The only unskippable cutscene is the opening story crawl which plays only the first time you ever play the game.  It's not meant to be skipped.

I normally wouldn't bother replying to such a troll post, but this is meant for anyone else who downloads the game or has questions.
 
MIRU chill the f out man. These guys make games and spend there own time for us to enjoy them. They could be spending time with there families and friends instead of making games for us. And both Count and Blood make some awesome games Rise of Warduke is by far one of the best openbor mods and GIJOE is not to shabby either. I am not sure how many mods you have made but next time you play a openbor mod take time to think on how much work it takes to make one and remember you are playing it for free for Christ sake don't be an ass. It would be one thing to give constructive criticism but  instead you just decided to bash there hard work ill make sue to do the same thing if you release a game. Hey Count haven't had the chance to play your game yet excited to try it out. Count do you have a link for your other Martial Masters game you guys released I have not been able to find a link for it? Keep up the great work

Okay. I am sorry for my tirade.  I will now download this again and play it.
 
I will ignore the drama since this is not the place for it, and there is no trace of it anymore.

Anyway Count Monte, I always loved ALL your work! For the great universe, the classic spirit of some of them (In Mugen or Openbor)
I'm really glad to see you in action with Bloodbane again.
For me this is a dream team! :D

I tested it a bit (3 stages) I like the power unlocking system.
The gameplay itself is top notch (BB style)
I'm glad this game still uses the "custom/edited" hitsounds I posted for it back in Lavalit days.
Also, the old school movie feeling is just stunning (principally the musics!)
I only regret 2 things
The engine-type scalling of the characters sprites (heroes)
The used film effect a little too important (perhap it can be toned down by transparency?) Just a suggestion.
Otherwise, this mod is definitly in my top 10 Openbor mods ;)
 
I also play a good 15 minutes of it and its pretty damn cool. The gameplay is solid old-school beat'em up style which I like. The film grain effect is a nice touch and adds authenticity. Great job Count Monte and bloodbane for dropping another surprise gem on us. Will continue on when I get off from work. Superb work.
 
Having played it, I can say it is a really good game. I like the variety of enemies and the film grain effect. However, I noticed only three unlockable characters despite there being four elemental worlds. The animated title menu is very impressive.
 
I played it a bit, and its pretty cool. Old school beat em up.
But I found Crane too slow for a speed based Kung Fu style as Crane style is, being a kung fu fighter myself.

I generally like fast characters, but in this release, I had no preference for Crane. Certainly for the lack of speed.
 
H folks,

I played the entire mod. Very nice, as usual. I found easier to play with Drunken Master than the other chars because he's faster and most of all he's invincible while preparing and performing D U A attack, which is a cheap (not many MP) compared to damage done. The other chars (well just tried Master Huang and Monk, the others not much) are weak compared to him because they get easily hit when preparing an attack.

EDIT :
- forgot to ask : what is the D U S attack from drunken master for ? He just seems to drink and doing nothing
- BUG ? just tried a new game with Monkey boy, did first level, chose Air Path and then to select my char, i could only choose between Master Huang and Crane. Intended ?
 
D U S for Drunken Master you have to have enough MP and he will do spit attack.

As for selecting unlockable characters, I think if you start a new game, once you get to the Elemental Paths, you have to unlock them again.  The idea being that if you beat the game and want to play it again, everything should be locked again so you can do a fresh start.

Don't forget about the juggle combos - once you are attacking an enemy, hold up while you keep attacking and they will get hit by juggle air combo.
 
Drunk Master's D U S is counter attack. If he's attacked while drinking sake, he'll counter attack by spitting sake :)

Yep, try holding forward key too to perform longer combo

Well, i tried about 20 times, with or without enemies on screen, still no spit, only drinking. Though I play with the delivered openbor version.

So I have all chars available for the first level, and only 2 again for elemental Path ? Doesn't seem very consistent, does it ?

That i sometimes success, sometimes not. But it must be me  ;D

I tried Earth Path with Master Huang quickly again, man, he's vulnerable when preparing a special attack, he's also vulnerable while doing it ! If that's so, there should be like a "kick back" button or attack to abort the special attack and hit behind. That's really the opposite of Drunken Master and his D U A.

Yes, that's the attack i use the most for him. And i get hit in the back by tigers/panters while doing it in Earth path. That's why i'd like the possibility, at least, to interrupt the attack not to be hit, or even be invincible like Drunken Master.

But don't misunderstand me : this game is great !
