Hi friends, I've just discovered this awesome Beat Em Up developed on Openbor. A mixture between Denjin Makai 1 & 2 with 3 players, 90's plot, good music and very good gameplay. You must try now!

Looks good. I played Denjin Makai 2 a few times and I'm glad the monster dude was used since he's my fave, but it's funny to me that he's a doctor for some reason, lol.

Don't know when but I'd give it a shot.  8)

Yes, text is only in spanish. Lifebar hasn't been edited, but don't afraid, I assure you that will enjoy it because it has different paths, special moves (weapon include), hidden secrets on stage and much more. I've played hundreds openbor games and considerate it is one of the best. Top 20 at least. Try it!
 
I like the idea it's not only a fangame, but it create new stories and all...
I'll try it ASAP.
BTW I'm sure I crossed some WIP video few months ago on Youtube, when I was lurking around. The video was about an early project with this Kurokishi girl in BOR initial 1st level.
(Not the same Youtube channel, but seems like the same project)

I think is that why he's a doctor in the mod story. Seems like Spectreman thing ...

I liked the mod, and I like denjin makai, but the mod is harder than it looks.
 
Hi to everyone and thanks to Toviciao for discover my mod xD. My native languaje is spanish so an english translation will take months x.x (months, not a year) because of my scarce free time now (work, studies, other projects) but I'll make it as fast i can and make a cool presentation for this mod when I finish translating it.

The game is playable even if you don't speak spanish. I can give you a quick translation about the comands if someone needs to configure:
Code:
Arriba = Up
Abajo = Down
Izquierda = Left
Derecha = Right
Golpear = Attack
Especial = Special
Saltar = Jump
Bloquear = Block
Capturar imagen = Screenshot

The Extra buttons are for some special actions that change depending the character you use but mainly is for evasion.

I came to this forum last year looking for some help about OpenBOR and It was a surprise that people likes Neon Lightning Force. I start as an amateur in spanish comunities of RPG maker, I stop with RPG maker, when I see that OpenBOR games were easy to do so I decided to give it a try before continuing with my RPG maker projects.

What I'm curious to know if there is a similar tool for making Shoot 'em up games (Aero Fighters, 1945) or action-platformers (Castlevania, Contra), I know that I can make it with OpenBOR too but I would like try with something more specific, I think they need to fix the "strict save" from the last OpenBOR version (I also want to know if there is a way to customize the main menu xD).

Welcome to the forum Crimsondeath!

I'd don't know of any shooter specific engines that are as well developed as OpenBOR, but I'm sure they are out there. You should know though, OpenBOR actually contains a shooter engine in it. A long time ago, someone made a shooter specific version of the original BOR, and that engine was later rolled into OpenBOR.

Because of this, it's remarkably easy to make shooters with OpenBOR if you are willing to give it a try. Several have already been done. Hyper Duel, and Contra are two great examples.

Yep as Damon Caskey posted OpenBoR can be used to make shmups. I've some examples if you want to see

I really loved playing this game. Language is not a major problem to me, but, yes some english text would be a good option.

Some characters seems really weak in battle. I mean, depending on the player selected, you sometimes falls and falls and falls again in a nonstop motion. Because of the amount of enemies. Sometimes 1 on 1 is already hard, but when you have a boss + 6 enemies or something. It's almost craziness.

There are some color errors on on of the robot/machine enemy (you can see it with the black palette)

One of Isolda custom slam seems to have a wrong horizontal flip during the motion.
Easy to fix IMO.

Anyway, I would love to see more action packed games!! :)

@Bloodbane & Damon Caskey: Thanks  ;D . I play the Castlevania demo and I was amazed of the BOR pontencial.  Now I understand why I can't make a Castlevania like game xD, I'm really bad with scripts  :'( and this is why I find an specific engine for each game genre like RPG maker for create an RPG (It can also be use for visual novels, puzzles or action-RPG games like Zelda) or premade templates that not require programing skills x_x.

@nedflandeurse: I know what you mean D: , I will try to fix that anyway. Steven and Negishi has no riseattack,I think  this is why it happens (when you want to get up them from the floor they lost their Invulnerability, if you leave them get up alone they will be invulnerable).

I mostly played Steven and Isolda. But what you say about other characters rise attack is true.

Also, you can be easily cancelled during your "attack1" anim when playing Isolda.
I think her 1st attack starter frame is long, and make her looking like a slow character.

After checking the code, she's noit that different from steven, but for some reason, I feel her like handicaped by this "slowdown"
Same for the long recovery time.

This is just my feeling.
I will play more with other characters to give better feedback if I can.

Very cool game indeed. I just figured out how to extract the pak file to explore all the game data. I was actually going to take a shot at translating it myself but not anymore since it looks like its well on it's way. Thanx for this!

As a side note, this works great on XBOX.
 
Hi to everyone, sorry for the delay xd
The game is almost ready, I just finishing some details (like the website and some testing also) the mobile emulator was very useful to do that in the traffic hours to my home (Thanks), so I hope the translation will be ready for january.
