This is what i was making for last year, its basically finished with all characters and levels animated /painted by me , need some small adjustments
 
Bad:

  • Really need to randomize the sounds. "Oh man", "Oh man", "Oh man"....
  • Animation still has a bit of that uncanny valley animation editor flavor to it.
  • The old throw is gone?
  • The flashing! All that amazing artwork, it's so jarring to see the ugly flash effect when spawning or invincible.

Good:

Everything else! Like I said above, the animation is still a bit - off. But compared to He-Man and that Shooter module you did, the improvements are astounding. Everything is so much smoother and more dynamically animated. I can't wait to see what your next project will look like! And even though the sounds are very repetitive, they are excellent quality.

I would have liked to see your animation on the opening. Enemies could have life-bars as well. I like the special maneuvers included. 
 
DC can you share what animation looked off to you, ill try to change it.It could help a lot.By flashing you mean blinking ? Throws are very simplistic like i always did them, maybe ill change that so they look properly alligned no matter what.
It is quite hard to get rid of that stiffness in my animation method , im still figuring stuff out and learning all the time.
There arent any releases yet, im still working on it.
I do want to make sounds more random and its a bit time consuming to watch all episodes just to find fitting phrase and cut it out for the game, for each character.Id like to add more.

Lot of it is the style, and I know it's hard not to be stiff with the tools and technique you have. Two examples off the top of my head are A) when Ralph does the kick melee attack. Instead of a sharp mid level spinning kick, he just sort of turns around and sticks his leg out like he doesn't have the flexibility to lift it any higher. The other B) is when he kips up after a fall. It's just more like a marionette puppet being pulled up.

Yeah. That one is just personal taste. I hate blinking used as an in game effect. Hated it as a little kid, and even more now. Especially when everything else gets such an upgrade.

I didn't see any throws at all in the video, maybe I just missed them.

That part I understand. I wrote a library that does everything you could ever want for sounds. Moves the sound Left or right depending on where it came from.  Randomizes without needing to hack it into the text files. Timed delay playback. Responds to specific events to give characters personality. But actually finding and cutting the sounds to play... dang that is a royal pain. No shortcuts there...

Great, thanks for feedback , the one thats from first impression is very important.
I was on a fence with turtles bending too much where their shell is so sometimes where moevs required normal human to bend forward or back with his back, i didnt do or just a little but ill change some of these.Roundhouse kick was based on some karate footage from tournament that was at the right angle for me to just frame by frame animate.

It just takes more time and better reference, i could mimic a variety of styles to some degree.
 
bWWd: I like the V character. I always wanted to make a beat em up hero of him. Congratulations for these nice animations :)
 
Amazing work!It was a pleasant surprise to hear about this, i really like the graphic style in your he-man and rocko's modern life games, they are very cartoon accurate. Can't wait to try this out once it is out :D
 
Man, this looks so BEAUTIFUL, overall! Some of the animations look kind of weird, like Raphael's kick and April's idle animation but, the resemblance with the cartoon is AMAZING. The backgrounds are gorgeous and very colorful.

Ah glad to see those hydrant and cones are attackable :). I thought they are just decoration due to missing shadow

Well... you can make her toss something to hurt Rocksteady or at least toss pizza when turtles' HP is low ;)

Great ideas, especially the idea that April would toss out health or some kind of power-up.  It would be a nice way to easy players into the game by making the first boss fight very forgiving due to HP restoration. 
 
Some animations from game and some experimental stuff like  dynamic shadows on leo, i decided against it cause it looks too much like celshading 3d
