Streets of Rage X (Windows / Android)

In Progress Streets of Rage X (Windows / Android) Beta 33

The project is currently under development.
Ok, after many playthroughs I saw that the GG moves were not as good as I expected as a "grab rage". So, since they are official moves, I created a pattern of turning them as a super (the 1 star attack) for all SOR2 characters in the same way as they work on SOR2 GG (Axel, Blaze and Sammy/Skate).

For Axel, the Burn Knuckle was moved from super to counter, and the Shoryuken used as a counter was moved to "grab up" attack. This way he will not lose any move, plus now the counter attack can be used without blocking an attack, but when blocking yet there's an advantage of freezing the opponent for a brief time.

while the move is cool AF, i am more impressed byt the jumbotron in the background xD
very nice touch ;)

The moves are fine. Axel ignites his fist in fire with the Ground Upper, Blaze does the kikosho energy attack like Chun-Li, Shiva has similar fire ignited attacks like Axel... For god's sake guys...

💁🏾‍♂️ If you re-read what I said, I was talking about the 'art style' of the projectile/orbs from Blaze's GG move, not that she has one.

I was testing Blaze in BK2 beta and remembered a different blitz move not present in the official version. I added it as a 1 start move (super) to act as a some kind of launcher or upper, looks cool so far.

In addition, I added the beta version of the jumping attack as a "jump up" attack, plus added the GG version of the special move as an aerial special. Credits to @seahorses for the amazing sprites.

Blaze BK2 Beta moves

Blaze SOR2 GG (Special move)

Blaze 2 - SORX new moves

I used the moment to make some fixes for the SOR3 Blaze version, including an improved rage with another great @seahorses work.

Blaze 3 - new move

I was looking at the SOR1 Axel spritesheet and saw that there's a good amount of moves, we don't need to save the SOR2 GG special for him. So, I'm testing it as a grab rage move, and it looks cool so far. Credits to @seahorses by more amazing sprites.

In the SORX version you can also hold the energy button in order to hold the rage attack, same as the original. I thought of using it as a 1 star move (super), but it will require some changes on the current version that players may not like.

Axel 2 - SOR2 GG (Special move)

Axel 2 - SORX new move
Blaze 3 new move animation is perfect. All that wonderful blue pixel art 😍

@1:13 Why did the Star Special Glitch like this? I know I hit the air special before the 16 damage hit. Maybe that did it? Though I have done a few other times and this never happened.

A win animation would be fun. Blaze could Glow Blue like she does her star specials. Axel could have fiery fist or a fiery foot. Doing a high kick pose.

Adam could put skate on his shoulder. Though, I can't image how much extra work it would be to have the characters interacting with each other. For the art and programing.

Blaze's whirlwind kick is well designed, and it can be followed by air combos, which makes it quite playable. But the spinning balls of light is a bit too magical and surreal. Will it conflict with SOR's postmodern street cyberpunk style?
Yeah, I have to agree with this. The move is great, but a projectile like that kinda conflicts with the game propose for me. Even if the move is available on GG, it kinda looks out of place to me to see she and Axel doing long range projectiles. Zan is fine because he is a cyborg and he does it as he converts weapons into energy

The moves are fine. Axel ignites his fist in fire with the Ground Upper, Blaze does the kikosho energy attack like Chun-Li, Shiva has similar fire ignited attacks like Axel... For god's sake guys...
It's called feedback, buddy. This is a feedback driven community. "For god's sake" :)

Hi, sorry if these has been suggested before, but I have some ideas:

Maybe add the option for enemy CPU partners

As a cheat / unlockable, you could add the feature so special attacks have no health penalty. Some enemies are naturally weak and you need to use their special attack to stand a chance, but you sacrifice health. It would be cool if there was an option to remove that penalty without enabling total invinsibility.

I also noticed that enabling infinite energy and health doesn't apply to counter attacks for some reason. If you block and counter, you lose a section of your health

When there are other releases, is it possible to copy the save file into the new installation to save your progress?

Amazing work though. Can't wait for future releases.

Game: Changed the command to use the wall/screen-edge jumping, now it works by simply holding the opposite direction while jumping.

What made you change the jumping off the wall? Were people messing up the wall jump? I can see that being the case.

Before the change Blaze had 3 wall types. A vertical which good for reaching the Jet pack enemies. A jump off the with a high arc which is useful. Then you have the fast jump off the wall that's still in the game.

55:08 to 55:24 You can see the utility of the other jumps especially if you line them up properly. I have connected these jump kicks.

55:01 to 55:03 I used that jump a boss rage attack though in a playthrough. But this only recorded example I have D=.

I love the new Blaze 3 rage attack animation.

I had fun time on normal with Blaze 2.

Good catch, I'm fixing it now. Thanks!

Currently it's not recommended because usually there's many changes between the versions. But I can think about providing a full save file at least during the beta test phase.

Thanks friend :)

Indeed the vertical was never planned to be added, only the other two. But the problem was that the "one shot" jump key sometimes fails mainly when using diagonal jump, now the player can easily do the wall/screen jumping by just holding the opposite direction and no need to press the jump key at the correct time like before.

So, if you hold diagonal up, you will jump higher and slower, and if you just hold left or right depending on the screen side, you will jump lower and faster. However, I can add the vertical jump again for when the player taps the jump button. If you hold up, the character will jump higher, otherwise he will perform a small vertical jump, this way having 4 wall/screen jumping types.

Great :)
That sounds great!!!!!

You're right! You're wall jump fix made it really easy to do both types. I don't why it take me so long to figure it out.

You did a great job with the air special changes.

The new rage attack for Blaze 3 has been really improved for grabbing the bad guys.

The enemies/bosses juggle differently now. Which is fun
Over all, this update with SOR 2 is a big improved over 28 in my eyes.

Thanks Kratus and seahorses for your hard work.

@Kratus I finally managed to recreate that glitch I was talking about on youtube. The infinite march glitch is in effect without it being enabled. I showed this on stage 2 SOR2 as Zan as I walked all the way to the end of the level and the enemies didn't spawn

Also another catch with the infinite health cheat, the poison gas at the end of SOR3 depletes your health even with the cheat enabled
