so i did try your game latest... and my effin god... is this done by a team or just you? cus jesus best module ive ever tested... so much in this that separates it from anything ive seen here so far.. no offence to anyone but this thing is a BEAST!!! you sir are on your own tier... GOD tier lol
just amazing.

P.S. i havent been around that long to text a whole lot of the great stuff people are doing here... so i mean no offense am just saying from the few ive tried this is on another level :)
 
Hi Kratus, I have tested your latest release on the windows client and the game looks really polish.

I noticed you are using 7612 for the openbor. The openbor on batocera is 7533 which is the last official release on github. Can you release it for the official release so anyone who runs batocera like myself can also use? Much appriciated.

@zuluuk Hi friend. Unfortunately it's not possible to rollback the engine version, in this case I suggest to update the batocera build to 7612 since I'm planning to stay using this one for a while.
I don't know if it helps but in this link you can check the souce code to compile the 7612. In case you need the Linux app image I can talk with the other devs to create it and include in the download section.

@msmalik681 Buddy, please if you can, could you compile the app image for the build 7612 like the 7533? I had a lot of requests for Linux but I didn't create my environment in a virtual machine yet :(

Although I started this project alone, I received a huge help from the entire community along 7 years of development, in which I will be always grateful. So, to be fair, the credits must be shared with everyone that participated in this journey even with a single sprite, suggestion or bug report.

Don't worry friend, I got your point. SORX may have some extra menus and features, but OpenBOR has many other games that are awesome (or even better) in other aspects. Frankly, without the proper community feedback I received along the way, the game would be nothing but a bunch of menus with poor gameplay and a lot of sprite style clashes 😅

Can this commit be introduced?

Because the display DPI on modern computers is mostly over 100%
@lanyer I'm planning to move to the latest engine build in future updates, but for now I will stay a while in the 7612 at least until the SOR2 characters are finished.

Hi @msmalik681 batocera dev needs to compiled for 7612 since the app data is closed so we can't just copy files into it. Can you please commit the 7612 on github as final? Only at this point as per communication with batocera dev, he will compiled it for us. Many thanks.

For a long time there's a thing that has bothered me in some characters, especially SOR2/3 Blaze's sprites, the clothes have some pixels with the same colors as the skin, not allowing them to be changed through alternative palettes without having weird effects. Before starting Max beta I'm doing a revision in many characters to adjust it pixel by pixel, plus using the moment to bring back some classic palettes too.

This is not a complete "smart palette" update yet, but at least I will separate some pixel colors to make better alternative palettes.

Those yellowy parts on Blaze's outfit has always bugged me so glad you thought about it.
 
I was curious, since this uses the OpenBOR engine, if this works on the port of OpenBOR on 3DS? I would LOVE to take such a high quality experience on the go without using my phone and an external controller. I tried to get it up and running, but it didn't work for me.

There is no OpenBOR port for the 3DS. Whatever that is you have, it's not official, likely based on an older iteration, and we don't support it. Since SORX uses the latest, greatest version of OpenBOR, there's pretty much no chance of you getting it working on 3DS. Sorry friend.

Ah okay. It's found on Universal Updater, so I downloaded it. I wasn't aware it was unofficial. Thank you for the insight. Sucks about the situation, but at least it's accessible on Android! The project is SOO good, with only one thing I feel like needs tweaking.

The 3-star super attack for Axel feels like it should allow one to use it to attack any enemies in a small vicinity as a "Get off me" kind of move. The animation looks like it should attack any enemy in a short radius, but doesn't and I have a tendency to whiff the punks, making me waste the attack. It feels too strict for the area that actually connects. And I feel it should be used while grabbed onto an enemy to guarantee a hit.

Other than that, fantastic project and surpasses SoR3 as my favourite for game feel and technical mastery!

Are you meaning SOR2 or SOR3 Axel rage attack? I can check the collision boxes of both and increase a bit.

About the usage, this move was designed focusing more on adding damage/combos than a defensive instance that pushes enemies away, like SOR4 star move. However, the rage attack is cancelable through many other attacks, like the default combo or "running" attacks. I can make some tests about canceling it while grabbing an enemy too, I removed it to avoid confusion with some characters that have "grab rage" available, like Max.

Thanks buddy. According to the log he posted, it usually is a problem with the save file loading a wrong value instead of the current language at the start.

@finnischeruhu Hi friend, are you using a save file from previous versions? Please, erase the "Saves" folder and see if the error is gone. If not, I suggest downloading the game file again.
 
Awesome work damn beta 29, I was using 27 hehe, keep up the good work, is there any way to enable the cheats, sorry I am on a super duper slow mobile hotspot, so browsing the new it terrible almost like 56k modem :D
