Sorry to keep you waiting for the SOR1 route, but even if it's slower, I'm working on it. Aside from the lack of time as mentioned before, I spent a lot of time trying to find the original authors of the SORR sprites made for the SOR1 route, but no success.
To be honest I'm very uncomfortable launching the game without SORR staff consentment. I know that I've been using a few sprites since the SOR2X launch (like Max running), but it's a totally different situation now, it's an entire route that contains 8 stages and a lot of characters.
Due to all this, I decided to learn more about pixel art and started my training by rebuilding all SOR1 stages using the original ones. The purpose is not to redraw it from scratch (like SORR does), but rebuild pixel-by-pixel to match SOR2 proportion with native widescreen resolution 480x270. To avoid image distortion, there's no resize in the process.
I know that the original sprites are not beautiful as SORR, but I mixed some elements from SOR2/3 to look better and there's no worries with original authors anymore. You can still find a few elements from SORR but it's limited to generic content like small lights or some random textures.
For the character's, I decided to use the BKM sprites and at the same time try to rebuild the original ones.
@kimono made good progress with some of them, so I will try to avoid as many SORR characters as possible.
I recorded small videos to make it less boring haha, plus I can make specific comments on each.
