The R36S is a cheap Anbernic portable console which has a 4:3 display, so unless you have a classic resolution for linux, it won't run well.
Hmm now I understand the problem. Thanksk buddy!
Nice work! How does one access the classic resolution mode? New here. All thumbs. Is there a menu guide? Saw different character select screens for instance on youtube samples. Curious how to customize this game for my personal experience. Thanks again for your hard work! Looks fun.
Thanks friend. About the classic resolution, you need to download the proper file. Currently it's not possible to change it inside the game.
- Blind alt path transitions are back. Why the downgrade? I noticed an option that looked like it could fix them, but it's kind of hidden and should be on by default. I get you might want to keep things kind of a surprise and that make sense, but we should at least get a tiny peek - if nothing else show us what the character could see (their POV of a hall, window, etc.).
I understand you point, but I changed this feature for 3 main reasons.
1) Alternative paths/rooms in the original SOR3 works this way (stages 5 and 6)
2) According to all the feedback I receive, the proportion of people that like/dislike this feature is around 50/50. Then, I used SOR3 to break the tie in this case.
3) There's an option to change it in the menu, so people still can enable it.
- Selective transparency is gone from places like the pillars in SOR2 Stage 1 bar. Again, why the downgrade? It doesn't make the game feel more retro, just more primitive and limited - especially when you've got transparency all over the place for lighting. It's also a practical annoyance to have your view blocked.
I received some feedback during the previous betas that changed my mind about it. The main point is, in previous versions some levels had it and some levels didn't, then I received a lot of feedback reporting it as a bug due the inconsistency. So, to keep a pattern I decided to remove all fglayer transparencies.
In addition, in some specific places like SOR3 stage 1, there's hidden items behind front layer boxes that will appear in case I apply the transparency by default in all levels. So, since non-transparent front layers are part of the game mechanic and not just decoration, I disabled all of them.
- As @Psykai noted, her forward special is boring and useless. If you want to reference SOR2 - then why not make it the Hishousouzan with an invincibility window?
Yeah, I'm still testing other better options, but this move is a reference from the Bare Knuckle Mobile.
- It's WAY too difficult to throw enemies off SOR1 Stage 7 elevator. That's pretty much the entire point and fun factor of that area - the risk of getting knocked off to toss people over. Unless you are in a near pixel perfect perfect sweet spot, they are blocked by the rail or bounce right off it. But of course Singals have no trouble throwing YOU over from anywhere near the rail. I absolutely LOTHE the idea of referencing SORR, but this is one area I think they got absolutely right. Thrown enemies were scripted to hit their heads on the rail and bounce over the edge during a thrown fall from most reasonable distances. Something like this is sorely needed IMO, or just a boost to the vertical velcoity on player throws.
I will take a look and improve it, thanks.
Additionally, SORX has the screen edge locking, which both SORR/SOR1 don't have. In this case I recommend disabling it.
Can't blame
@Kratus one iota for locking it down. Last thing this world needs is people like the LNS crew or SORZ porn-peddler types making a mockery out of his efforts.
Yes, this is exactly the point. Thanks boss!
Blaze switching her feet feels unatural in this.

Yeah, I understand, but I just followed the original BKM sprites.
Maybe you can use this edit of Saiha?

I used it for my 3 Stars Blitz (All of my edits is BK3/SOR3 mechanic. See below for the move concept) so maybe it's fine if you used it for Blaze Offense Special because it serve for different purpose.
Thanks friend! I will test the Saiha's edit, maybe useful for a super or forward special.
To tell you the truth, I hate SOR2X at first because I thoght it's the same old Chinese or Russian SOR openbor hack with crazy gameplay and flashy effects. I remember when I tried it at first the bosses spam me with specials and rage supers, I don't remember what version is that though.
Hahaha I don't blame you. This is why I stopped the SOR2X and started the SORX, which has a totally different concept closer to an official game instead of a crazy hack.
Credits to
@O Ilusionista for his tips and feedback when I started in the OpenBOR, mainly related to sprite style clashes.
It was a long time ago. So I never bothered to follow about the project. But over time I was amazed about the changes and it's taking the interest out of me. That's why I'm late to the party. If my memory serve me well it's when I ask you about the BKM Bongo spritesheet so I can edit to be more like SOR 1 because I don't like that you're using SORR sprites. So thank you for letting me contribute to this awesome project and someday when I've completed this concept of mine I'm gonna annoy you with lots and lots of questions about coding. I hope in the near future and I hope you're still active and not busy.
Thanks buddy, I'm always grateful for your support
It don't suck here lol. The flip kick, while yes is overused, is a death sentence for most enemies here as it confirms into Blitz+Air Special, that she can somehow do in the air lmao.
Yes, exactly. I made her in a more acrobatic style, unlike SOR2/SOR3 in which the best moves work from the ground.
I do like how overall broken she is (I like Blaze and her SOR1 look is the best of all), but for balancing sake I have to call it out unfortunately lol. Like I said, I can see how SOR1 characters should be more powerful than their future selves but also be limited in approach, SOR1 Blaze's damage output just seems too gnarly compared to others I think. IMO there's nothing wrong with a One-Trick-Pony character in a beat em up, but maybe some of her damage could be toned down to still be stronger than SOR2/3 Blaze per hit, but not feel like she stomps the whole cast in viability.
Hmm I don't understand, her power is exactly the same as the other Blazes. The attributes in the select screen are not decorative, they indeed affect all the damage.
You can confirm it by enabling the "show info: hud+hits" options at the features menu.
one good balance decision I guess is that her blitz has no invincibility, her only reversal is neutral special
Sidenote for @Kratus her jump attack animation is missing her gloves.
Thanks, I will check it.
Hi, I have a problem with the android version. I installed it on a modded Switch with android and on a Mangmi Air X. When I play and then I put the consoles in standby, they don't recognize the controls after that I resume the game. This doesn't happen with Retroarch, for example, because this app makes the control to restart every time it resume from standby. Is this problem fixable?
Sorry friend, unfortunately I can't guarantee that the game will work fine on any Android device, since all the tests are done only on cell phones.
Thanks friend!
Just keep them in the game as WIP for now.
So we could consider giving elements for them.
Exactly, that's the point, mainly during the beta phase.
For the specials, it could be a simple fix of moving the forward special to defensive as the 360 motion feels better suited to a "get off me" attack which most defensive specials are already & the forward special the cartwheel kick... Or even the Blitz. The regular Blitz now being the elbow.
This is a good idea, thanks friend.
A creator like Kratus needs support and encouragement. Please let him pursue his vision for the game. It's impossible to please everyone, so at least let him enjoy himself on a game he's spent years coding. Thank you for your empathy and understanding.
Thank you, my friend!
How do I access the SOR2 & SOR3 games? It's only letting me play the first game with patch34
In the main menu, after confirming a "new game", just press left/right to change routes.
The one handed energy wave from your rom Hack would be nice for SOR 1 Blaze's forward special.
If I'm not wrong the one handed energy move is similar to the SORR version, plus it will make her look very similar to the other SOR2/SOR3 moves.
I liked the idea most people gave of moving the forward special to defensive, and adding a new one for the defensive.
